Awards Engineering Scholarship to Haines City senior

Haines City, FL Hercules Robinson,
an inspired student leader at Haines City High School, is
the 2006 recipient of the TRC Foundation’s Engineering
Scholarship. Ranked in the top 85% of his class, as well
as a member of the National Honor Society and Black Leaders
of Tomorrow, Mr. Robinson received this honor in recognition
of his outstanding academic excellence and leadership skills.
Taking inspiration from his family, Hercules Robinson has
been motivated to achieve some impressive academic feats.
Combined with “an intense love of math,” he
set the goal of completing every mathematics course offered
at his high school. By the time his junior year was over,
Mr. Robinson had accomplished his goal.
Hercules Robinson is the President of Upward Bound, a program
affiliated with the University of South Florida where he
was recently selected for freshmen admission. He has set
the goal of obtaining a Master’s in Engineering by
the age of 25. The TRC Foundation’s Scholarship provides
$2,500 towards his education.
The TRC Foundation’s Engineering Scholarship is specifically
aimed at helping college-driven youth who are in need of
additional financial resources to attend selected colleges
within the region. Recipients of the award must major in
the field of engineering, be a resident of Polk County and
have a minimum grade point average of 2.8.

Consultants, Inc. and founder of TRC foundation stated,
“With such a critical shortage of engineers, we are
proud to partner with local schools and universities to
fill the skills gap and sustain the workforce for our region,
as well as our nation.” Headquartered in Haines City,
Florida, the TRC Foundation annually commits $100,000 to
scholarships, local non-profits and other community organizations.
